Back in 1997, The Final Detail Company was just a dream. Bringing this dream to reality was going to take real determination and hard work. Considering the four principles already owned their own businesses and knew what it required to be successful, all they needed was to take their love of maintaining cars to the next level. With that in mind Michael Yelson, Steve Grayson, Edward Drazga and Todd Avery had one goal. They wanted to manufacture, market and distribute automotive products that would exceed their customer’s expectations. They wanted to develop automotive products that would make maintaining cars, trucks, motorcycles and RV’s, fast, easy and cost effective.

The first product, Final Detail Instant Spray Wax, was the culmination of months of testing, to achieve the necessary results for a product that would be quick and easy to use.

The next step to their marketing plan was to develop lines of distribution, in the highly competitive car care market. Their first introduction into this market was to approach local car dealerships and detail shops.

After gaining success locally, they needed to find a medium to help them increase sales. QVC® is broadcasted in over 87 million homes across the United States. It is the second largest network in the country behind NBC and seemed like the perfect choice. Not knowing that QVC® only accepts 1% of the more than 10,000 new products submitted each year. Their chances of being accepted were slim, but their hopes were high.

Unbelievably, Final Detail Instant Spray Wax was chosen by QVC® and scheduled for its first on air appearance in the Spring of 2000. By November, Final Detail was a recognized name with QVC® viewers throughout the United States.
